Key Stage 5

We offer a Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care for Key Stage 5 students.

This course is relevant to those interested in pursuing a career in any area of health, care or social sector. Heath and Social Care will not only provide students with the chance to build awareness and understanding of contemporary issues in health and social care but learning skills essential for higher education and the world of work.

The mandatory units for this course are:

• Human Lifespan Development
• Working in Health and Social Care
• Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs

The Certificate will include 1 optional unit and this includes Sociological or Psychological Perspectives, Supporting Individuals with Additional Needs or Physiological Disorders and their Care.

Work experience is not essential, but we will aim for a placement of work experience that will be in line with the student’s individual area of interest- I.e. Childcare, Nursing, Public Health.
