First Give Final

On Wednesday, 15th January, all Year 9 tutor groups at Trinity School took part in our annual First Give Final.  As an integral part of our Personal Development programme, the First Give initiative engages Year 9 students in exploring social issues and connecting with local charities that address these challenges within their community.  This inspiring programme aims to ignite a strong sense of social responsibility in young people, empowering them to make a positive difference.

At the School Final, judges watched presentations from the students about their chosen charity and what they’ve done to support them. The winning group was awarded a £1,000 First Give grant for their chosen charity, Dingley’s Promise.

A huge thank you to both Cllr David Harman, the Deputy Mayor of Newbury and the Trinity Head Student team who had the difficult task of judging the presentations.

Sean Kenneally, Assistant Headteacher responsible for launching the programme, remarked, “This is a fantastic competition that truly highlights the spirit of our students. Through this project, they have personified our school motto of ‘Personal Excellence and Collective Responsibility.’ Their commitment to their community and their desire to play an active role as responsible citizens is truly inspiring.
